Unlike diagonal cutters, whose cutting edges meet at a blunt angle, Knipex cable shears use a scissor mechanism for cutting.

This allows for straight and clean cuts, making them ideal for household cables, such as NYM-J 3x1.5 mm, NYM-J 5x2.5 mm, and all other multi-strand and fine-strand copper and aluminum cables up to 35 mm⊃2;. Thanks to the design of the cutting edges, they are not intended for cutting hard wires.

Knipex 95 41 165: reduced physical effort in cable cutting

With the Knipex 95 41 165 cable shears, the user only needs about a third of the manual force required compared to conventional diagonal cutters, thanks to very sharp cutting edges. This significantly reduces work strain, especially during prolonged use, such as in building electrical installations. The ends of the cables are cut so cleanly with the scissor mechanism and precisely ground cutting edges that they can be processed directly. After stripping, the wire load function on the cutter can be used.

Integrated wire load area, smoothly screwed joint, and opening lock

The universal wire load area at the ends of the cutting edges makes work easier by eliminating the need for a separate tool. Knipex cable shears work very smoothly thanks to the precisely regulated screw joint. The joint bolt can be adjusted if necessary. The protected built-in opening lock adds convenience when cutting larger cable bundles and saves one manual movement with each cut.
